What would they tell me? I have a few on my chin.Would would a dermatologist do about a few blackheads?
if you have them on your chin, more than likely you have them on other areas of your face. the derm. will extract them from your face and prescribe you some topical onitments and have you come back in a few weeks.Would would a dermatologist do about a few blackheads?
For starters, please do not try to pop or extract the blackheads using your hands or any other kind of ';tool';. This can lead to permanent scarring and you will most likely regret it every time you look in the mirror. Also, I've gone for facials at spas and although they are often well-meaning, they can sometimes be too rough with your skin and can inadvertently cause damage.
At the dermatologist's office, they use a tool to extract the blackheads (it's probably very similar to or exactly the same as what the facialist uses, but I trust the doctor more! Plus, if you have insurance they will cover your visit to the derm...but not the spa). If the blackheads are very large, going to the doctor to have them removed may be your best bet against scarring.
While I've had very good luck having a dermatologist extract my blackheads, it can be inconvenient taking time off for the appointment, especially if they are very small. So far, only one product has helped get rid of them quickly and without scarring. I dab on Clean %26amp; Clear Invisible Blemish Treatment http://www.cleanandclear.com/productDetail.do?productid=47
before bed and a little more when I wake up (may as well, it's clear!) and within a day or two the blackhead turns in to a regular looking zit with a little bit of pus on the end. From there, I continue dabbing the Clean and Clear on until the pimple dries up and disappears entirely. It's about $5....an amazingly cheap and effective way of erasing the problem.
I do not get blackheads very often any more, and I have noticed that when I eat well, take vitamins, sleep, and stress less they don't seem to appear. If the derm wants to put you on any kind of harsh topical creams, I would suggest making nutritional/lifestyle changes first before you go down that path.
Best of luck to you and hope this helps.
they will give you a cream.....but you probably dont need to go to a dermatologist for just a few black heads.....try a face wash....theres an awesome brand that i use and its called neutrogena ( its dermatologist recomended) then if you want something else use dove soap (which was also dermatologist recomended).....
Hi!
I think the dermo would probably tell you steam and extract them and maybe what soap to use, unless it's severe medication won't help will probably only burn your skin/ make it break out :(
I actually found a facial oil that slows down your skins oil production, clears up pimples/ acne and dissolves black heads within 4-8 weeks I put all the info on my blog as it's quite detailed:
http://beautymoi.blogspot.com
I also put a full article of how to extract blackheads and steam your skin.
Black heads are basically a hardened oil mixture that was secreted from your pores and oxidized (which makes the outside part black) and since water and oil don't mix, no water based product can ';clean'; your blackheads away, just try say putting certain foundations or makeups on the mirror and if you wipe it with water it smudges all over but put a little baby oil and wipe and tada! it comes off super clean AND dissolves it. So this is basically how this oil works. It's composition is such that the skin accepts it as a healing oil and it does not clog your skin but rather protects it while the plant extracts inside go down into the pores (this absorption is made possible by applying the toner to the skin before applying the oil and then applying the dabs of oil over your moistened face), it then penetrates into the pores.
I put where to the name of the oil and prices in stores versus on eBay as well as how to apply it on my blog:

Also be sure to check out all the links on my blog as they have lots of info!!!
For acne you may want to look on Google for Drying Lotion by Mario Badescu.
Take care and good luck!

My son had several on his nose that were quite bad. I took him to a spa for a facial (be careful where you go) and they removed them as best as they could with steam.
After that I just got him good cleansers for his face and had him dry exfoliate his face gently before cleaning it in the morning and before bed.
He hasn't had them since.
I don't know about a dermatologist but as an esthetician, you should steam the area, clean it good then use peroxide on it. the darkness comes from skin discoloration within the pores and the peroxide is a skin lightener as well as a good cleanser for bacteria.
Instead of going to a dermatologist you can try a mask that will help draw out the impurities/dirt clogging the pores. Biore makes some strips for nose and chin that help clean the deep embeded dirt out.
You don't need to pay money to see a dermatologist about blackheads if there are only a few on your chin. There are plenty of home remedies that you can use %26amp; products you can just buy at the store.
they will probably give you a special cream thats not too strong and not too weak so you can get rid of the blackheads and not hurt the skin around them. it will probably be like a cream made out of 5% Benozyl peroxide.
a dermatologist would probly give u some really pricey prescription like she did for me I think it works but I'm sure I could have gotten a much cheaper non prescription look at all that kind of stuff before u go to the dermatologist
theyll probably give you some perscription cream that should clear em up sometime between 3 weeks-2 months depending on the severity
they won't do much, they'll just tell you to start using different creams and face cleaners
it's blocked pores so start using some blackheads facial products
they would pop them and charge you A LOT
squeeze em out. its pretty nasty, they like come out in strings. its pretty painful though. I forgot the professional name for it.
blackheads are normal, everyone has them clean your face daily with a gentle cleanser like neutragena or spectro gel.
I'm afraid they would tell you that's just the way your skin is, but I'm no doctor. Google ';treatment of black heads.'; See if it give you any useful info.
Honestly, probably nothing at all. They would probably tell you that you are lucky to just have a few blackheads.
Get Biore facial strips - it basically rips them from your face. I love them just to see all the gunk that comes out of my pores!
i've seen my wife use duck tape for ones on her nose. sounds silly, but it worked! pulled the stuff right out of the pores.
If they found them on me I would just curl up and dye.
probably pop them.
some would steam them, and gently remove them - some wouldn't.
try proactive
I don't know..
Go get some blackhead cleanser...
they would prbly give u cream
