In Canada how can you see a dermatologist without referral?

I have a strange mole that I'd like checked out but I don't have a family doctor, and when I went to the walk-in clinic, they told me to go see my family doctor who will then refer me to a dermatologist. I told them I don't have one they said get one. I called all the family doctors in the phone book and there aren't any family doctors in my city who are accepting new patients. And I called all the dermatologists to see if they can see me because I am unable to get a family doctor, and they all said no.

What do I do?In Canada how can you see a dermatologist without referral?
You can try other clinics, eventually u might score a doctor who will refer u, or atleast take u on as his/her own patient. In order to see a dermitologist u usually will need a referral becuz they are ';specialists';, u can try looking in another city close by. Where in Canada are u located?

Ya, I'd say just try other clinics. The doctors there are allowed to make referrals, sometimes they're just too lazy (that would be why alot of them dont have their own practice!)! I'm in Windsor, and I know some of the clinics here do referrals for dermi's, ob/gyn's etc. Try another clinic and ask the doctor to look at it, if he see's something ';not right'; about it, he'll refer u just to cover his own a**! Worth a try. Good luck! =)In Canada how can you see a dermatologist without referral?
A doctor @ a clinic should be able to refer you to a special list, I had one do it .
there's nothing you can do except get a family doctor, you should have got one long ago...
