Should I take a trip to the dermatologist?

I am considering a trip to the dermatologist for acne problems.

My friend was prescribed on accutane, and her skin is perfectly clear now.

Can I have the benefits and risks of these drugs?

Thanks for your time!Should I take a trip to the dermatologist?
It depends. If your skin is not bad enough to warrant such strong skincare regimens, it can actually make your skin worse. Have you tried available over the counter stuff before considering the dermatologist? Most people will have relief and considerable change with OTC stuff. It's only when your acne is really bad (and sometimes caused mostly by overgrowth of bacteria) that you need prescription stuf.

Neutrogena Skin iD is a wonderful product. I have also heard that Acne Free works well for some people. I do not recommend Proactiv.Should I take a trip to the dermatologist?
don't bother;you need a test when you need to clear your skin, pegnant women get birth defects in use, mental illness, heart disease, heart problems(triglycerides, high cholesterol) . it's difficult to get because a lot of people have these problems. save time and get another idea which won't cause problems to the touch.
The same thing happened to me, my friend went on some acne treatment from the dermatologist, and her skin cleared up nicely. The problem is, all our skin types are different, so you might not get the same effect.
Accutane is not an Rx to mess around with and most Dr will only prescribe it as a last resort, the side effects are numerous and can be quite severe, including liver failure and psychosis. It's a vitamin A derivative so the side effects are similar to vitamin A toxicity.

It's also harder to obtain than a hand gun.

No I'm not kidding, you have to go to a Dr that is enrolled in a government program to be able to write the Rx for it, you must be on birth control for one month before starting it, and have a negative pregnancy test, and continue to have pregnancy tests throughout the duration of the treatment. You must also enroll in the program and tell the government all your sexy little secrets and can only get the Rx filled at pharmacies enrolled in the same program. You can only get one month at a time and if you miss your pick up window you have to wait another month to get your Rx. Etc Etc ETc...it really does go on and on.

BUT it can work miracles and for me, personally, is worth the effort.

I would go on their websites, you can find all the info you need as well as a list of side effects. You should also go to the government's iPledge site to read about how many hoops you'll have to jump through to get it.
