My dermatologist's number changed, and I can't find it now.
I don't want to have to go through getting a referral, so can I just go to my normal doctor about my skin?Can my doctor (not dermatologist) prescribe an acne medication?
Yes you can. I was prescribed minocycline by my family doctor which worked really well. Just talk to your doctor and they can determine which medication is best suited to you, be it orally injested or some type of cream. It doesn't matter if they're not your dermatologist.
